There is an ongoing debate about whether increasing number of gas vehicles in cities are the major contributor to environmental pollution or that the factories are the major sources. While both of the perspectives hold merit,I firmly agree that industrialization is the main root of pollution,as it generates a large mass of industrial waste. This essay will explain both viewpoints and my opinion on why i consider industries to be the major source for pollution and waste.
On one hand,as countries are being modernized, large number of car ownership has increased, contributing in emission of carbon monoxide, smoke and other dust particles, causing environmental degradation. Moreover, huge number of vehicles in city increase traffic that causes overcrowd , that leads to noise pollution. For instance, big cities like London California etc high amount of traffic that worsens the air quality , affecting the overall quality of life.
On the other hand, pollution emitted from factories have a long term effect on environment than the vehicles have. Industries produces harmful chemicals like sulfur dioxide which worsens the air quality.Beside this, carbon dioxide released from factories contributes in greenhouse effect and depletion of ozone layer, increasing global warming. Additionally, liquid waste from industries are directly thrown into the river, affecting the biodiversity. For example, large scale of wild animals and fishes are being extinct these days because of the changes of ecosystem due to environmental pollution.
In my opinion , factories are the major source for overall pollution, as it produces a tens of hundreds tons of waste either in chemical or gaseous form ; causing the long term effect on environment as well as on human beings.
To sum up, although high number of pollution from vehicles has some effects on environment, but the industrial waste has contributed more to environmental degradation , leaving a long term effect on ecosystem and biodiversity. Government should implement some strict laws to mitigate the pollution and unnecessary waste production.
