People hold different views about receiving university education, whether is employment oriented or enrich students experience. In this essay, I would like to discuss both sides of views and present my own idea that university education is beneficial for students’ future career.
On the one hand, the main contribution of higher education sectors is to cultivate professional for different industries. As most of students prefer to have access to study at university to become more competitive, thereby seeking a decent job after graduation. For example, with proper training at university, undergraduates are likely to master essential techniques and practical skills such as laboratory skills while doing research or hands-on experiments. Those experiences are formed to be a solid academic background on their resume, allowing them to have a bright career prospect.
However, on the other hand, having access to university education also offers students an opportunity to open their eyes. At university, international students bring different cultures and immerse the local culture at the same time, which gives them a glimpse of the world. For example, these foreign students may speak Spanish, Mandarin, or French but have to learn local languages for communication. This learning process not only help them master a second language but also truly expand their horizons by living abroad.
From my perspective, university education is of significance to find an employment, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Those who struggle with poverty are able to develop their intelligence and skills at university, which provides them with a chance to find a decent job with good salary. For example, these students may become lawyers, doctors or engineers in future career due to higher qualifications they received at university. As a result, studying in prestigious universities is conducive to a better career advancement.
In conclusion, even though university education gives students a chance to embrace different cultures, this study experience play an important role in job hunting, earning more money and living comfortably.
