Nowadays, the majority of people around the world have at least a Tv set or an android phone, where they constantly get their daily information about the world. This has made media the main broadcasting source. However, many individuals believe that this means of communication has a negative impact on our life. I completely disagree with this idea and in this essay I will support my opinion with examples.
Firstly, I think media is the fastest way of transmitting a message. Many people have easy access to social media, and also have the capacity of either sharing or receiving an information. For instance, an event such as the presidential elections of Cameroon can be viewed by the diaspora on their phones far away from their countries within seconds without necessarily waiting for news papers to be printed.
Additionally, TV is the most reliable source of getting the correct news. Many countries have their national TV channels, where they broadcast their news, backed-up with live images. Most of the information broadcasted by these channels are edited and revised not to harm viewers, some images are usually blurred to avoid damages to sensitive viewers.
On the other hand, there is an argument that media news is often fake. Many people upload fake images created by AI on social media like Facebook and Instagram, leading to the rapid spread of misleading information about certain people. A perfect example is the frequent announcement of celebrities’ deaths on Facebook, whereas they are still alive.
To sum up, although it is a common belief that news gotten from media is harmful to us. I believe that this is the easiest and fastest way of getting life saving news if the users are careful with the different different channels available online.
