Choosing overseas as a destination for trips will become less popular in the future and the majority of people prefer their own country to spend their holidays. In the following, I will evaluate these two points of view and mention their advantages and disadvantages.
Firstly, traveling to your own country gets you familiar with different aspects of your motherland which were like a mystery to you before it. Besides, you can get acquainted with various cultures that exist in your country and gain valuable experiences during your trip. For example, in Iran, there are many different nations and cultures which have their own traditions. Hence, a Persian guy can become familiar with these traditions by traveling to different areas of his/her own country.
Secondly, selecting a region in your homeland as a travel destination may enhance the local economy level. Every tourist spends money on their trips and this phenomenon can lead to economic enhancement of the area. Therefore, their income will become much higher and in this way, you can help your compatriots improve their quality of life. For instance, when you travel to a town, you must book a hotel, purchase food and drinks, and also buy souvenirs for your friends and relatives. If this town is located in your motherland, you spend your money there and help the local economy.
Besides these advantages mentioned above, there are also a few disadvantages. By not traveling abroad, you may lose the opportunity to get familiar with international cultures and traditions. Additionally, you won’t get other sweet experiences like speaking another language, eating foreign food, or wearing their local dresses.
In conclusion, choosing an area in your home country as an endpoint of your travel has many pros and cons. You can get acquainted with different aspects of your motherland and get familiar with various nations and cultures that exist in your own country. Also, you can help local people to improve their life quality by spending money in their region. On the other hand, traveling abroad may provide you with an opportunity to become familiar with international costumes, other languages, and maybe delicious foods. However, in my opinion, the advantages of this opinion outweigh its disadvantages.
