These days, many individuals prefer to study practical disciplines so academic courses might eventually be removed from university curriculum. From my point of view, I completely disagree and assume that a theory is essential due to providing basic understanding and developing critical thinking.
Fundamental knowledge or profession can be achieved only through learning a theory. Without a strong theoretical foundation, individuals may struggle to adapt to new developments. The practical application of knowledge is impossible without knowing the ideas, especially in fields such as the economy, where the successful completion of tasks highly relates to the previously obscured basics explaining underlying principles for further practice. Therefore, theoretical education is a crucial factor in obtaining of necessary knowledge. Also, removing this subject from universities may weaken intellectual growth and limit students’ ability to make informed decisions in their fields.
Regarding another reason, subjects aimed at the theory develop the problem-solving skills of university students being necessary for future life. All practical subjects cannot advance the general level of education and sometimes there is a lack of information in other files. So, to elaborate, the analysis of problems leads to the creative and extraordinary generation of potential solutions within challenging situations occurred in a wide range of situations. Hence, the implementation of decision-making abilities in real-life experiences depends on intellectual development through the theory.
To sum up, for my own, the role of conceptual knowledge is considered to be significant as these concepts are able to provide a basic understanding of the profession and expand skills related to analytical problem-solving capability
