In the 20th century, most people feel that telecommuting assists employees to feel at peace in quiet, to work in a safe place where they can do or dress whatever they want and reduce their expenses on transportation. However, some people believe that telecommuting can make workers lack communication and loneliness as well. In my opinion, there are more benefits to focusing on telecommuting than drawbacks based on the experiences and the two main points above.
People always decide to work at home in a positive environment as their priority because it helps them feel comfortable in simple clothes, peace in quiet, and safe without any pressure while they are working. In addition, time and transportation are the second considerations that workers want to save every single month. For instance, if they have to work in an office or shared workspace, they must charge for space, drinks, and transportation. Moreover, traffic jams are a significant issue that people living in the city face and make them spend a lot of time going to work.
On the other hand, a lack of communication in the working environment is a difficult situation for employees to share and exchange their information or ideas. For example, working in a group requires all the members to arrange appointments to share ideas and activities. Hence, there are network issues that sometimes cause communication to be cut off during work at home. Also, telecommuting comforts employees in a comfortable zone, but people can not stay alone for a long time, they should go outside to get extra stuff to apply to their work and refresh themselves, such as content creators and graphics designers who work with social media.
In conclusion, workers who work in a traditional office or shared workspace can gain their ability and extra stuff, whereas telecommuters work flexible hours so that they have enough time to go out as well. Therefore, I feel that telecommuting offers several essential advantages rather than disadvantages.
