It is thought that people have difficulties achieving work-life balance. High living expenses and lack of management skills are the most viable reasons. However, this should train them to implement better financial management and communication to deal with those problems.
To commence with, working professionals are mostly working overtime to pay their bills. In some cases, their daily expenses, such as food, residence, and entertainment can’t be covered by their salary. This situation forces them to work overtime to earn more just to manage their bills. Moreover, some employees find it mandatory to respond to the boss’s instructions immediately even after working time and finish the task right away. They feel uneasy to say no or do it tomorrow even if it is not paramount. Therefore, they are easily burnt out and stressed.
Two ways to tackle these problems are by practicing better financial management and communication. All employees must be aware of their total income and start frugal living. Prioritize what to buy and eliminate unimportant things. Reduce the purchase of unnecessary self reward or viral items, and buy essential yet affordable items instead. Furthermore, they should communicate to their boss to not violate the working time unless it is urgent. Kindly inform them that you will finish your task during 9 to 5 and need to rest afterwards. That way, your boss will respect your personal time and won’t bother you with any deadline unless it is crucial.
In conclusion, it is evident that some prominent issues drive people to overwork, such as high daily expenses and lack of communication skills. Nevertheless, it can be addressed by incorporating better budgeting and setting boundaries.
