The way people used to style themselves have significantly changed since last few years. Now more and more people indulge themselves in wearing trendy outfits. While I don’t see anything bad in it but it should be kept in mind that there is a whole world beyond it.
Since the time Social media took over, the trend to wear different and new style clothes have gone up. People see influencers and celebrities wearing new stuff and try to follow them. Wearing something fashionable also enhance confidence and is a way people put themselves out. Trends like ‘Get ready with me’ and ‘let’s go shopping’ have attracted a lot of attention of individuals, especially gen-z’s on social media. Other reason might be the peer pressure. There seems to be an avoidable competition that goes on between people. For example, if a friend or a colleague is wearing something branded, one also feels the need to buy that product or sometimes even better than it.
Although, there is nothing wrong with it but I feel people have started giving these materialistic things more importance than their actual characters. In other words, there are many other things like intelligence, kindness, honesty etc. that is now avoided. People start judging others on the way & how they’re dressed and not how good or kind of the person they are.
To conclude, keeping up with the trend is a good way to put oneself out but it should not be considered as a major factor to decide the character of others. Rather one should look beyond it
