Obesity would be one of the main concern in the near future. That might be because, compered to the past, younger generations tend to have less activity and eat more ready meals. However, there is still a chance to slow down this trend by taking some messurments.
Gaining fat can be caused by unhealthy lifestyle. It is obvious that some children tend to eat fast food at school which is not only have negative effects on their ownbutalso tempting other students to replace it with their homemade healthy meals. When this happens repeatedly, it will become a habit which increases the risk of obesity. In addition, Overweighting can also be linked to the fact that there is an increasing tendency, especially among younger generation, to spend their spare time in zero-calorie burning activities such as scrolling through social media or playing computer games. This means that they have to place, the majority of their time, in sitting position or with minimum physical movement that can make them more prone to gaining weight. Thus, it is not surprising to see more and more are becoming fat.
There are several ways to approach this problem. It can be useful if the school authorities forbid eating fast food at school which can lead to eating healthier food. Although it may not be easy to implement and probably face disagreement at first, students will change their mind if school offer good incentive like holding food festivals or giving reward to those who prepare healthiest food. A second way would be developing computer games or applications that are physically demanding during playing. This is so effective because if children have fun along their physical activities, there will be more likely to keep that going. Therefore, it will help keep them fit.
In conclusion, obesity, in teenagers, is becoming one of the inevitable consequence of being sedentary and lack of healthy diet. Imposing doing exercise and eating healthy food and also including interesting physical demanding acitivites in young generation’s free time would be helpful to address this issue.
