It is claimed that people can take advantages of both earning and social life. However, some people believe that making friends at the workplace is in advisable. From perspective, I believe that people can greatly benefit from the relationships at work.
Beside gaining income, establishing new relationships is also beneficial at work. A chief advantage is that workers can work more effectively when it comes to collaboration with the help of good partnership, it would be more straightforward to discuss and propose ideas and schemes. Evidently, scientific research of psychological profession in Oxford University have indicated that friends are more likely to reach unanimous decisions than casual acquaintances and strangers. Therefore, it would enhance the productivity and accelerate the working process.
Another significant positive implication is better mental well-being. Specifically, getting on well with colleagues might relieve stress because people can receive help, sympathy and sharing when they are on good terms with other workers. Moreover, people can avoid being outcasted and easily adjust to the working environment. As a result, widening social networking in the workplace can increase job satisfaction and pave the way for people to work diligently and enthusiastically. It is obvious that people can benefit from their social cycle at work.
Opponents of the viewpoint mentioned above suggested that making friends at work would distract people from their work and assignment. They believe that people would allocate their time to talking to each other and devote less to their work. This would degrade their work efficiency and quality. However, whole-heartedly concentrate on work would increase the level of stress and deteriorating mental disorder. A case in point is the high rate of suicide because of work in Japan. People there are solely focus on their work and do not take the time to communicate and share with others. Thus, they cannot relieve stress and suffer from mental instability. It is clear that this viewpoint should be debunked.
In conclusion, as people can take numerous advantages out of social networking at work, they are encouraged to make new friends. Also, it is inadvisable that people avoid making friends and distance themselves from others.
