Most people want to be successful and spend much of their time working on it. I think that success is a greatly subjective term, but to me, it means achieving a balance between the quality of life and vocational achievement.
It is only normal that people have different aspirations in their lives. To some, monetary gain is what would make them feel satisfied with themselves. Others; however, are fine with making just enough money for basic life needs and a few luxuries. Unfortunately, to achieve a huge income, most rich people have less and less time to spend with their families and friends. Another point that many people focus on when talking about success is getting higher job positions. These are usually employees that live their whole lives looking forward to the following job raise. Although anyone would be glad to receive a better position in their job, our careers shouldn’t be only about getting promoted.
In my opinion, balance is the key to a more meaningful life and people must aim to achieve this balance by considering all different aspects of life. Undoubtedly, mental health, physical health, social life, love life, and hobbies are all as significant as vocational life. That’s why people should spare some time for the gym or a date night in the midst of their working days.
To conclude, there are various ways in which people achieve what they think to be success, but I believe that they shall not neglect a certain part of their well-being for a job or money.
