Band 6+: Many small local sshops are closing as they are unable to compete with large supermarket in the area. How does this effect local communities? How could this situation be improved ?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In large cities, chain supermarkets are growing at a high rate and are gradually luring customers away from small stores. Of course, not everyone can resist the unequal struggle against the monsters of the market. Many small shops close as soon as another new store appears in the neighborhood. This essay will discuss two of the main reasons causing this and propose measures to address the same.

Firstly, small stores have already become victims in the competition with large stores. One of the main reasons is that minimarkets cannot afford large-scale promotions and such a wide range of products as those of super and hypermarkets, whose networks are growing. Moreover, the products in supermarkets are segmented by category, clearly marked with prices and systematically organized. For example Korzinka.uz one of the largest supermarkets in our city. Which has a whole aisle for each product like Meat, Utensils and so on. Which is very convenient for the buyer.

Secondly, the owners of minimarkets should pay attention to creating conditions around the store – the presence of a small convenient parking lot, asphalting the territory around the store, the presence of benches, as well as the installation of lighting around the shopping establishment will create an additional effect for customers to evaluate the store’s service. It is also important to note the fact that sellers undergo appropriate customer survey training. Solidarity of the outlet is a big plus for the development of the store. For example, when a customer likes the seller’s service in a store, it’s good because he will be pleased to come to this store for the second time.

In conclusion, various measures can be taken to tackle the problems that are certain to arise as competing with supermarkets
