Nowadays, greater number of people choose to move to another country for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctor’s education. I firmly believe this shift constitutes a largely positive development from social connection with international community to greater access work paths and career oportunities after graduation.
The most troubling consequence of study abroad is decline of population in specific countries like post sovet union countries, where younger generation select more developed countries such as United States of America, United Kingdom and China for studying with potenntial opportunity to keep working and living there after graduation. Emprical evidence consistently indicates that majority of students, who studied abroad stayed in another country, where they got higher education degree. Consecuently, this change has further adverse implication such asshortage of labor force in particular countries.
Another negative consequence is the lack of career paths and work opportunities in specific country. When student study abroad, pupil often have more opportunities linked with future major. For instance, up to 60 % of City University of Hong Kong alumnies frequently working in global companies such as Amazon, Big Tech and other top companies around the world, because of given university’s opportunities. Furthermore, international students enhanse communication skills with people from other countries. Therefore, studying abroad decrease the rate of discrimination linked with race, nationality, face features and other factors.
Overall, higher education in foreign country is accosiated with decreasement of population, larger amount of opportunities and improvement of international relationships. Given these positive consequences, I regard this change as positive one
