In the last decades, technology has seen an impressive growth. For this reason, we can observe that more and more things are done by machines, even those that were usually done at home by hands.
Firstly, this incredible tech evolution brought many advantages. As a matter of fact, nowadays it is possible to save a lot of time, simply by ordering a machine to do something instead of you. For example, till last month I used to spend, at least, half an hour a day cleaning my apartment, but once the Black Friday arrived, I bought a cleaner vacuum robot which does all the work by itself. In addition, AI is starting to be more and more efficient and impactful. It’s shocking how well it can substitute humans doing many different tasks, such as writing an e-mail or analysing the content of a document.
On the other hand, I would argue that this trend has also lots of disadvantages. For example, young people tend to learn less things, such as how to wash correctly a pot or how to write politely a message, just because they know that most of these stuffs can be done by machines. Furthermore, this AI and tech evolution brings, also, some negative effects on the industrial sector. In fact, although it allows to save time and reduce expenses, it usually leads to lower quality products. For instance, many automotive companies are certainly offering cheaper cars, like Stellantis or Volkswagen, but I believe that they usually produce worse models than twenty or thirty years ago.
Overall, the development of new technologies brings both positive and negative effects. We couldn’t easily claim that the advantages are greater than the disadvantages or viceversa, for the fact that it usually depends on many different factors and situations.
