There has always been a debatabele issue in our society pertaining to young people nowadays remember more about international celebrities than about their own historical leaders. Some consider that there are some benefits behind this tendency,while others are skeptical about it and they contemplate that is has more cons than pros. I am complate agreement with the former standpoint and in the forthcoming paragraphs I shall explain my position.
Firstly, there are some inevetible drawbacks that should be advocated and the most detrimental aspect of lots of youth today pay more attention to globe pop stars than to the important people from their country’s past is that the majority become indifferent to their national history, which can be a hindrance in the future. For example, if someone asks them about their historical ancestors and they won’t know what to answer and then fell embarrassed. Moreover it’s also deemed that they may lose their culture due to being absorbed into foreign values. For instance they see foreign individuals as ideals,not the ancient but famous people of their homeland.
While there are unambiguous disadvantages like the one mentioned above ,benefits are also a great deal and firstly it can be stated that by observing such things, they can learn English. This means that most of the things they see will be in English and it will be easier for them to learn. Besides it can be also acknowledged that, this also makes a lot of young people interested in fields such as theater, music and film. This means that in the future they will become different actors and actresses.
In conclusion, there are some obvious disadvantageous points of currently, a large number of youth are more familiar with global entertainment celebrities than with the historical figures of their own nation, however, as every coin has two sides, there are more than a few benefits of this, such as they learn language through an easy method and it broadens their worldview and sparks their interest in art.These completely outweigh its demerits.
