These days, almost every student has a mobile phone. Many pedagogue think that cellphones should be banned in schools because they cause problems. While I agree that phones can distract students I believe that a total ban is not a good idea instead schools should control how students use them.
On the one hand, The reason to limit phones is classroom focus. It’s very easy for students to check social media or play games during lessons. When their phones vibrate or make sounds they lose concentration. For example if a student receives a message, they stop listening to the teacher. To solve this, when students come to school one student can collect all the phones and put them in a locker. After class they can take them back and use them during breaks, so they do not get distracted during lessons. This makes it much easier to understand the topic and helps students get higher grades.
On the other hand a complete ban on mobile phones are impractical because these devices serve as essential educational tools. For example, they can search for difficult words in online dictionaries or find helpful information on google during lessons when the teacher allows it. If schools take away phones for the whole day students can’t use these helpful tools.
Taking everything into account I think a total ban on mobile phones isn’t a good choice.
Even though they can distract students during lessons we can fix this by collecting them before class starts like I mentioned before.
