Today’s world increasingly depends on artificial intelligence. For some, this is a normal sign of development, but others fear that relying on AI could weaken what humans are able to do.
To begin with there is 3 main reason why the development of artificial intelligence a natural part of a progress and it will lead to a harmonious existence between modern society and technologies. To begin with first argument the development and implementation of AI is nothing more than natural continuation of technological progress. Because once upon a time machines replace manual labor like now AI helps to perform routine intellectual tasks. Additionally, improvement of Artificial intelligence raises an efficiency of work. For example automation of processes in medicine, education and manufacturing makes people’s work faster and more accurate. Moreover, the strongest argument is that AI enhances a quality of life. For instance smart assistants, navigation, personalized training and disease diagnosis make our existence more convenient.
On the other hand, some believe that AI can debilitate human abilities. Firstly the lose of human abilities can lead to decreased ability to think critically, solve problems and memorize information. Also one of the most important and risky problem is security and privacy issues. For example data leakage, manipulation and surveillance can be extremely dangerous and even cause harm to person’s personal life. In addition the last reason is about job loss risk. Because all these artificial technologies can cause automation replaces people in some professions.
In my humble opinion, people need to find the balance between using artificial intelligence and development of human’s abilities. We should learn how to improve skills which let us understand and control AI technologies.
To conclude, AI can be highly beneficial, but only if we balance its use with the development of human skills. For this reason, improving digital literacy is essential so that people can understand and control the technologies they rely on.
