Nowadays, a large amount of money is spent to explore the outer space and it is considered by some that spending this money on improving human life on Earth is more beneficial. I largely disagree with this view as learning about space contributes to the improvement of life considerably.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why many people prioritize concentrating on improving the quality of life. One reason is that space companies now spending millions of dollars for creating rockets and investigating places with no life seem pointless and donating this amount of money on supporting homeless or disabled people or inventing new kinds of technologies would be more appropriate. However, many people do not understand that having a knowledge about space help us enhance the quality of life in many ways.
On the other hand, gaining knowledge about space plays a crucial role in building a better life. For example, we can anticipate possible dangers to our planet by tracking sunlight and meteors, or be prepared if the climate changes.Furthermore, space exploration helps us develop new technologies like satellites, GPS, and better solar energy, which improve our daily lives on Earth. Lastly, as natural resources on Earth continue to become scarce, identifying different kinds of alternative sources would secure long-term survivality of human civilization.
In conclusion, although spending money on poverty or healthcare is important, I believe that investing on space exploration is worth it. New discoveries we make will ultimately bring great benefits to life on Earth.
