Nowdays, governments have to make difficult decision about how to distribute financal resources. Some people believe that public funding for postgraduate research should be given exclusievly for scientific purposes, rather than for other areas of study. Although i agree that scientific research deserves significant support, i disagree than other subjects should be excluded.
On the one hand, scientific projects can lead to considerable benefits for sociology. Scientific research often can help to solve serious problems related to helth, technology and environment. For example, medical reserach can lead to the development of the new treatment and vaccines. Similarly, research into renewabble energy also can help country to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Therefore, it is clear that governments should priorotize donating into science, as they can help to produse practical results and economic development.
On the other hand, research into other academic fields is also valuable, even if its benefits are not immediately visable. Subjects such as history, sociology and literature can help to understand us about cultural difference, sociological devolopment and human behavior. For example, historical research can teach future generation important lessons from the past events, while sociology help governments to explore rhe social problems such as unempoyment and inequality. If financal support is limited to sociological project, many other aspects of human knowlwdgewold be neglected.
In conclusion, investing into soliological research can help to country’s development. Regardless, it is important to maintain other aspects too.
