In light of developments in our society, commuting has become an important issue. A lot of workers choose to live in rural areas and travel to work in the city day by day. From my standpoint, several factors contribute to this problem and many different solutions can be implemented to mitigate it. This following essay suggests effective solutions to encourage people not to travel a long way.
In the first place, the government should encourage the opening of more factories or companies in the countryside, providing support and investment in them. Then more people could work in their areas and use less transport. For example, in some developing countries like Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, the support from the government for work is very important. In addition to the government, the company should assist employees with travel and accommodation at the company. For instance, there are some companies that build dormitories for employees who work far from home and have a shuttle bus to pick up employees from the same hometown.
Moreover, the selection of workers could be an important solution for the traffic issues. People could work remotely, maybe it is an online job that they can do at home. To give an example, a lot of old people and women in japan do some job related to making handmade products in Japan or some young people do content creation work and what they all have in common is that they can be made at home. So they don’t have to travel to work.
In conclusion, I believe that these solutions could be successful to improve traffic transportation problems and reduce environmental pollution.
