Humans are migrating to urban areas due to better opportunities. Although this migration has pros for the individuals, it does not have pros for the environment. I believe this trend has a negative impact on the ecosystem. I will discuss these points in the subsequent paragraphs.
The utmost disadvantages of these migrations are deforestation. As more people settle in cities for their better future, this results in an increased demand for houses. For this, the government clears land by removing trees, which not only causes deforestation but also results in global warming. The lack of trees causes a hot environment, and for the people living in such weather, they need to use cooling devices such as air conditioning to cool the houses and offices, which ultimately affects the environment.
Another reason for its negative effect is air and noise pollution. People do not waste their time by taking public transportation, as it takes more time to arrive at any destination compared to private vehicles. As a result, people prefer to buy their own vehicles such as cars and bikes to save their precious time. More cars mean more emissions of gases, which directly cause air and noise pollution. These migrations are not only affecting our environment but also affecting our health as we are inhaling gases that are emitted from factories and vehicles.
To conclude, individuals are moving to urban areas from rural areas, which is only good for their future as they get more job opportunities. However, this migration causes numerous negative impacts on the environment, like air pollution, noise pollution, and deforestation, which causes disturbance in our ecosystem.
