It is noticed that the majority of people nowadays go to eminent locations in order to take some photos, giving no attention to what is the real meaning behind this place.
The predominant reason why people go to famous places is social media. To begin with, the social media applications are being used by many individuals nowadays. In other words, when influencers post their picture, in a well-known place, on the internet, this will urge the need in some followers to take the same picture at the same place. A good illustration of that, the recent photo that has been published by Mo Salah at the pyramids, this made a number of people take a selfie there, without even knowing the history of the pyramids and why they were built. Although, the pyramids have a significant and rich history, the visitors only want to imitate their bloggers.
I vehemently believe that copying people’s photos without grasping the meaning of the place is a negative trend. To commence with, some trends on social media may diminish the value of the place. For instance, when visitors start recording themselves doing some dance movements in front of the museum, this will show no respect to the place they are in. Moreover, citizens shall be less familiar with the history of their country due to not asking for information about the area they are currently in. As a consequence, such crucial places, museum, would neither be cared for by visitors nor influencers.
To conclude, I argue that if people do not look at the place, this may be a negative trend in various ways.
