Nowadays, many educational places serve unhealthy food for their students and they make a deal with fast food restaurants to introduce the food for their learners. I believe that this has a detrimental impact on students’ health because fast food causes health problems such as obesity.
To begin with, promoting companies such as fast food encourages a poor diet. In other words, when schools make a deal with junk food places, they encourage children to buy unhealthy food rather than bringing homemade food. In addition, fast food leads to numerous health problems which negatively impact on students’ mind. For example, according to World Health Organization, fast food restaurants such as Macdonald’s and Pizza Hut are harmful because food saturated with fats. Thus, schools advertisements for unhealthy products have a malignant effect on teenagers due to their large amount of calories.
Furthermore, these days, many private schools serve lunch for their pupils because of long time hours that they spent in the school. This means that if young people eat fast food regularly, it will influence their physical and mental health. They are not able to perform exceptionally well in their academics and careers because, by eating unhygienic food, they do not get the necessary minerals and proteins for cognitive development. To instance, a recent study shows that students who eat more junk food suffer from health problems in the long term. Hence, not only do advertisements impact children’s health, but they also affect their performance in school.
In conclusion, by analyzing the above mentioned points, it can be reiterated that distributing junk food at school encourages students to engage in bad eating patterns. I think schools should encourage their students to eat healthy food and introduce campaigns about the health.
