An increasing number of species is on the brink of extinction and some of them have become scarce. This problem is due to illegal hunting and deforestation. This essay will elaborate on the causes and propose some solutions to deal with this issue.
Illegal hunting is one of the main reasons why some animals are on the brink of extinction. Owing to the animals’ parts that are believed to be able to cure certain diseases, such as cancer and aging, many people hunt down these wild creatures and sell it to the illegal traders. Additionally, deforestation also contribute to the decrease number of animals by destroying their wildlife habitats. That is to say, some animals that are sensitive to certain temperature and humidity are unable to subsist due to deterioration of their habitat in order to develop infrastructure.
There are several methods to deal with these issues. Firstly, the government must issue and enforce laws and regulations pertaining to illegal hunting. In other words, the government should punish any companies severely should they violate these regulations. Secondly, the government must provide sufficient housing and transportation systems in order to prevent illegal property expansions. Finally, the government can involve its citizens to be rangers and provide a reservation centers to maintain biodiversity.
In conclusion, poaching and illegal logging are the main issues to animals’ scarcity and extinction. Therefore, the government must implement related laws and regulations to combat illegal logging and infrastructure problems.
