Many wild creatures are at risk of disappearing and some are listed in the Red book. There are several factors behind this issue, and there are ways to address this problem.
One major cause of the extinction of wild animals is illegal hunting. People hunt animals not only for food but also for commercial purposes such as using their leather to make luxury clothes or their bones for interior decoration as a status symbol. This can lead to a breakdown of the wildlife cycle. Habitat loss and deforestation can be other factors contributing to the disappearance of wildlife. The development of urban areas greatly effects to the animals life because people reclaim land for agricultural sectors. In addition, companies and governments act irresponsibly toward nature and forests, as a result animals lose their nests and face many difficulties in finding food.
There are several actions that both can solved by the government and public individuals in order to reduce the harm to wildlife. The authorities have to create laws to protect the living creatures. Primarily these responsible individuals allocate special zones for the endangered species to support the growth of animal populations. Moreover they set up strict restrictions for the hunters during the reproductive season of animals. Additionally, raising awareness among people can be great solution for this problem. For example every human being should acquire some of the basic knowledge about animal creatures and ecosystems at the school. In this way they can reduce the risk of extinction for endangered species.
To sum up, the main causes of wildlife extinction are illegal hunting and deforestation. Wild animals can be protected from going extinct by creating isolated zones and rising literacy rate.
