In recent years, there is a growing trend that people increasingly prefer to use public transports, rather than private cars. This development has both significant benefits and remarkable disadvantages. This essay will examine both views and explain why I believe merits of the usage of public transport outweigh its demerits.
On the one hand, there are several disadvantages of choosing to use public transport. One of the major drawbacks is the extended time spending vehicles, especially on the busses. To be more detailed, buses require significant amount of time to reach destination, because of regularly stops and its limited speed. Moreover, public transports are not the best choose for the vulnerable groups. To be more specific, because of crowded, the public transport may be dangerous for vulnerable people, especially in the rush hours. Therefore, waste of time and the threats for vulnerable groups are the main downward of the usage of public transports.
On the other hand, public transport has many benefits for both cities and the people. The main advantages of this development are the alleviation of the congestion and air pollution. In fact, increasing use of pubic transport brings about less private car usage. This trend not only reduce traffic problems in the city, but also alleviate air pollution problems due to lower carbon dioxide emission. In addition, public transports are important for the society, especially people who don’t have a private car. To elaborate, many individuals rely on busses or metro stations for going work or schools. As a result public transports are crucial part of the city and have significant importance for people.
In conclusion, although there are several demerits of increasingly usage of public transport, in my opinion, it has many benefits for both city and people.
