Band 5+: Most crimes are the result of social and economoc problems such as poverty and unemployment. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Most people believe that criminal actions are caused by the result of social and economic problems. Most problems are ignored and develop into serious issues hereafter. I agree with their statement, which say the following thing : “most crimes are the result of social and economic problems”. It can be the result of economic problems such as poverty and unemployment.

Firstly, criminal actions don’t simply start without any prerequisites. It assume at what state a country is. Many prerequisites are ignored and eventually develop into serious issues such as increasing criminal actions and poverty. The goverment must control and look after economonic situation in the country. Countries like South Africa, Venezuela suffer from poverty due to high crime rates . Pakistan and Indonesia are examples of places where poverty and high crime rate interconnected, where each can worsen other. The main reason of this is high corruption rate, which lead the country to pure poverty.

In addition, a high crime rate indicates a significant number of criminal incidents in a given place, impacting quality of life and the economy. It has serious health consequences, both physical and mental, and can be linked to factors such as mental health issues, substance abuse, unemployment, and social and economic inequality. Addressing a high crime rate often involves a combination of public health and law enforcement strategies, as well as community-level interventions..

In conclusion, I agree that most crimes are the result of social and economic problems such as poverty and unemployment.
