Most nations’s educational centers have extended their school hours in order to look after the children because their parents are busy in their work. As I see it, the merits of this notion dominate the demerits, which will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, when any children remain at school for extra hours, it reduces the parent’s worry over their child. In other words, normally parents who are working hard at their jobs have to leave their work uncompleted to pick up their kids from school. because of that, they have been distracted from their work which affects their whole productivity throughout the day, So, if their children remain at school for more time, parents would not have to stress over to pick their children from school. Thus, they can pick them after finishing their job. Moreover, when children spend extra hours at learning institutes, they would indulge themselves in productive activities related to their academic subjects. For instance, at school, they can participate in any sports activity related to their physical education subject. As a result, it would enhance their physical growth.
Besides advantages, there are some disadvantages as well. Firstly, parents have to pay extra money to educational institutions to keep their children for longer period of time. To explain this, learning centers such as school charges extra time for their children because in order to keep the children, schools have to use more resources than intended. For example, if schools open for for extra time, they have to pay more to educators, and bill for electricity and water. That’s why school charges higher fee to offer such facilities to provide safety to their children.
To conclude, there is no doubt that children can at school for extra hours when their parents working has more benefits than drawbacks because not only parents do not have to worry about picking up their children from school but also their kids would participate in such activities which increases their overall physical health, however, its negative side cannot be neglected.
