Despite of people have been celebrating festivals which are related to their unique traditions or religions all over the world, some have neglected reasons behind festivals and just preferred to have fun with themselves. From my perspective view,I am totally against with this as all of us need to cherish our traditions.
It is interesting to note that unique festivals held by different countries are connected with both tradition and religion mostly. It makes younger persons to comprehend crucial messages that were given by ancestors or controlled by religion, likewise. For instance,in Myanmar, whose over eighty percentage of population are Burmese, holds ceremonies that are related to Buddhism, like Thingyan Festival and Thadingyut Lighting Festival.During these festival periods, most individuals spend their time with family by going to pagodas, keeping the Sabbath at monasteries, paying homeage to elders and sharing snacks to others.
Nowadays, instead of paying attention to customs and traditions, almost everyone tend to enjoy themselves during festivals. Moreover, these special events are regarded as long holidays where people thought that they can have fun like travelling and hosting parties with beer and beverages. Therefore,as a result,it contradicts main themes of events. In addition, the fact that local cultures and customs which are influenced by others, are making young individuals to forget about their own heritage. In some cases ,it can cause drawbacks on people’s life .One clear example is that New Year Party in Myanmar at 2018 caused over 500 casualties due to careless driving under influence of alcohol in just one night.
To conclude,in spite of celebrations are being attended globally, most of them are mainly regarded as festive carnivals. In my opinion, everyone should attend these with comprehensive understanding of background purposes which is better than just having amusement.
