Recent years have witnessed an increasing number of residents who prioritized consuming fast food and ready-made meals over home-cooked food in daily life. While there are a few benefits of this trend, I personally believe that the drawbacks are more significant.
On the one hand, it is clear that eating outside foods can offer considerable benefits. Firstly, the top advantage is saving time for busy people. For instance, as for students who have to go to school on time in the early morning, they tend to choose packaged food for time-efficient. In addition, people also have opportunities to access variety of cuisines because many convenience stores have various types of ready-made foods from different countries such as: spagetty, Korea mixed rice,… . Furthermore, packaged food is also cheaper than homemade food made by fresh ingredients or dinning out. Therefore, ready meals allow consumers have a meal quickly and pave the way for eaters broaden their culinary experience with affordable prices.
On the other hand, I firmly believe that this trend brings more drawbacks. One of the most harmful impacts is health issues, eating too much pre-cooked foods will lead to obesity and chronic diseases like cardiovascular problems. The main reason is that fast food is high in fat, sugar, and artificial preservatives. Moreover, ready meals also reduce family bonding and cooking traditions. For example, depending too much on fast food to save time can make people forget about spending quality time for family meals gathering. As a result, to improve daily meals, consumers should know how to manage a balanced-diet.
