In today’s modern world, some people believe that the internet has overshadowed traditional printed newspapers due to its quick access to updated news. This essay clarifies the reasons behind my firm agreement with this statement, as well as elucidates my standpoints on this.
To begin with, it is undeniable that technology has developed significantly, and it brought a lot of benefits in improving the convenience of people’s daily lives. The internet, thereby, is also progressively enhanced. With the constant, rapid cyberspace and most people owning a portable device such as a phone or iPad, they can easily gain access to the latest news and data immediately. Furthermore, the presence of the internet is so widespread that it is available in almost every corner of the world. Individuals will have no difficulty in checking out news from other countries or what the world situation is like. For example, people can find the latest information about the Russian-Ukraine war or the US presidential election situation effortlessly. Meanwhile, information printed in traditional newspapers may not contain or mention any foreign, but only domestic news.
Moreover, in order to manufacture printed newspapers, a large source of wood is an essential factor. Consequently, the excessive logging for paper printing will take a toll on the deterioration of natural ecosystems. Not only did humans chop down a huge number of trees for paper which is a crucial element in providing beings with oxygen, but they also destroyed the natural habitat of many animals.
In conclusion, it is clear that reading news on the internet has more benefits than reading on traditional printed newspapers. Not merely is it efficient, fast, and continuous, it also can help limit the timber exploitation for paper.
