Over the past few decades, newspaper influents noticeably in forming public views and beliefs. I suppose that it is positive development due to its contribution of promoting people awareness and discussed below are several reasons of my perspective.
On the one hand, It is plausible to hold the belief that newspapers brings lots of updating information in daily life. It provides individuals a reliable resource about local, national and global news about various fields. To take an example, when the Covid 19 disease occured, the media helped residents the simple ways preventing virus to stay in safe and inform people about high-infected area for avoiding to go. Therefore, newspapers help the public to stay informed about important of social and political issues.
On the other hand, this phenomenon is not without drawbacks. Some skeptics consider that the media’s impact on public awareness can be harmful without verified. Nowadays, there are many fake news which are created for business purpose that make people feel nervous and misunderstand about the reality,especially when people trust newspapers without questioning the accuracy of the information. In addition, with the development of technology, now there are many online news and website which allow the readers access easily with no price. It enhances boredom and disengagement, this is the main justification for being a demerit.
In conclusion, although newspapers can enhance individuals’ knowledge and improve the sense of competence in life, which can improve the information worldwide; however, newspaper no longer be faded in contemporary era with the global development.
