The past few decades have seen a dramatic change in the office interior layout system, due to increased number of employees are forced to work in conjusted work place. In these days, plenty number of offices prefer to setup an open-space architecture rather than isolated cabins for their staffs. I partially agree that benefits associated with this exceed drawbacks. This essay will demonstrate several reasons to support this opinion, with some relevant examples.
To commence with the positive aspects, firstly, every employer can save a lot of space inside office buildings by implementing open-desk design. To elaborate, making a cabin for every employee, consume a huge amount of area by allowing easy access path and partition walls. As a result, it is often considered as wastage of space. Secondly, almost every asignment is often associated with a particular team, members of that team are always expected to work together. In other words, team members, who are working for a single project, need to share multiple data and also they need to discuss a lot about their work with each other several times throughout their working hours. Hence, combined-desk setup allows them to contribute equally for their group targets.
Shifting towards the negative consequences, primarily, managers are often hesitate to discuss anything confidential with their employees while they are sitting with other employees. Thus, managers are used to call their employees in their cabin, which can foster a sense of harassment among employees. Furthermore, employees mostly find themselves under security camera survilance and access of those cameras were previously shared to their bosses. Consequently, it enhances the work pressure among staffs precisely.
To encapsulate, although by implementing group-sitting arrangement for employees, every organisation utilize their office building efficiently and it can help every team member aasigned for common tasks, it brings about several negative consequences such as a sense of harassment and a feeling of working under high pressure among employees.
