In recent years, a number of individuals have opportunities to do their work remotely. In my point of view, there are both benefits and drawbacks of remote work and I will state some reason in this essay.
Firstly, working from home can enhance flexibility not only working hour but also working place. People can adapt their time for personal cases, family responsibilities, and even external work. They can manage their work hour with their own schedule. They can also customize their workspace whether in a green space or in a corner of room that can be benefit to come out a lot of ideas to improve productivity of work.
In addition, it can impact on well-being of communication. Working from home minimizes the interruption between colleagues and reduces anxiety. People can work without stress of commuting and it can also improve mental health. Moreover, they focus on their task without environmental issues.
On the other hand, one of the drawbacks of working from home is that people can feel social isolation. The reason for this is that they will not have face to face interaction with their coworkers and community and spend the majority of their time by themselves, working individually. Furthermore, it can be challenging to separate between their work and personal life due to overworking. For instance, if you do multiple work in a day, the line between work and life could not be balanced and can lead to burn out in their work.
In conclusion, remote working offers flexibility and well-being, however, it can feel social isolation and lead to challenge the work-life balance due to the risk of overworking. Given this situation, it is a crucial role in balance between remote working and in-person work for future of work.
