Companies and organization these days require their employees to wear a uniform. Like in hospital, courthouse, security job etc. where people wear a specific cloth to carry their identity. There are some advantages as well as some disadvantages in it.
To begin with the advantages, social workers have specific uniform so that other people can easily distinguish them from others and seek help if needed. Wearing same type of dress makes people blend in easily and they do not need to worry about different clothes on different days. As a result, uniform makes it easier to select clothes daily. Moreover, uniform becomes the part of their identity. Companies and organization use uniform for their branding as well. It means that when you look at a person and you see their outfit, you immediately recognize the institution. So suppose , if you want to buy a product from a specific company but you are unable to remember their name and suddenly you see someone who is wearing the company’s uniform, the name of the company instantly comes on your mind.
However, the disadvantages of wearing same type of cloth everyday is it makes life boring. People with good fashion sense can not do much with it and sometimes it frustrates them. Moreover, if a person do not like the company he can get really stressed just by looking at the uniform.
From my experience, in my university we had a dress code which needed to be maintained strictly. At first the students did not take it nicely but over the time with study pressure we realized that choosing different outfits everyday is time consuming & creates stress. Eventually we got used to the uniform and it became a memorable part in our life.
