As new technologies are created and new issues arise many people find themselves in a position where they have to change their jobs. I believe that this can solved if people diversify their skillsets and learn more about investing.
Understandably, business owners often look for a way to improve productivity/performance of their companies and it is usually done by integrating technology. This basically means that old employees who used to do the job manually are now replaced and rendered jobless. A case in point might be the fairly recent release of ChatGPT which essentially freed loads of copy-writing companies from having to hire copy writers, since the AI can do the same job at significantly lower costs. Another possible cause is political tensions that often arise between countries and this eventually leads to disruption in supply chains and this in turn contributes to joblessness. The ongoing war in Ukraine just goes to show how a war in one small country causes many millions of people to lose their job.
Solving these problems, however, might require a draft of different measures. The first thing that people can do is diversify their skillsets and start investing. By learning a few skills, I believe that in case of a loss of a job a person should be able to find another one in a different industry. While investing in financial markets, especially in stable and steadily growing stocks, can safely and slightly increase their wealth over time.
All in all, mastering different skills and investing should in most cases be enough to make sure that fewer people lose their permanently.
