In the recent times, celebrities are being followed and pictured by photographers all the time. There is vast majority of population who believe it as a positive trend as there is general curiosity in their daily life because of fashion, clothes or hobbies . While there are others who maintain opposite view on this trend, since this is constantly evading their privacy and in some cases even their family members are captured without consent. In my opinion, professional photographer should reflect some maturity and decide the appropriate occasion before shooting the image. The following paragraphs will discuss both the views and come to a plausible conclusion. (This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.
Many people believe that it is a good idea to take images of popular personalities due to growing public’s interest in their life. This is mainly because of their glorious lifestyle, and people take notice of their branded clothes, jewelleries and try to adopt in their lifestyle. As a result, this also creates more followers and attract various brand deals for the celebrities. A recent study found that most cinema actors are interested to be photographed as it helps them pull increased crowd into their events or movies.
On the other hand, there are others who believe that it is not appropriate to take pictures as it affects their personal life and they have a fear of constantly being chased by paparazzi. The main reason for this is that the family members are also followed without permission, and sometimes it is highly inappropriate to take their pictures in specific situations such as hospital visits and domestic matters. As a result, it impact their personal life and sometimes even effect their work. A recent survey conducted by media agency in major cities of the world found that the famous personalities want to avoid being photographed outside of the major events. In my view, the photographers should maintain a balanced approach, and establish guidelines for photographers to avoid interfering with their personal life.
To conclude, there is a vast majority who agrees with taking photos of celebrities to generate more followings along with influencing fashion trends in the public. While there is also an opposing viewpoint from others who believe that this culture is negatively impacting the daily personal and family life of famous people. I believe that a balanced approach should be followed to maintain a healthy relationship between photographers and celebrities to avoid any conflicting situations.
