One major reason is the increasing complexity of human interaction. People have been required to have multiple connections in real-life and working environment, compared to the past. This trend has been accelerated, with the advent of social media. A large number of messages and content make people easily feel overwhelm. Additionally, looking to the strangers’ lifestyle causes comparison between ideal posts on the internet and on my own real life, which can lead to a sense of inadequacy and growing frustration. Another reason is the lack of job security these days. Many duties and job opportunities have been replaced by the cutting-edge technology, such as AI, automated manufacturing machines, and self-driving systems. Almost all companies decrease the demand of workload, shifting to the digital-centered society. As a result, these factors force workers to move to different jobs and the new skills and knowledge would be required in order to adapt to changing circumstances. Human beings tend to experience anxiety and stress when they face with unfamiliar environments.
To address these issues, one effective measure would be for individuals to reduce their reliance on smartphones. Some professionals argue the effectiveness to refrain using screen time on the daily basis. 45% of young people spent over 6 hours on browsing online applications and chatting with anonymous users, while 5% of them are aware of avoiding to use excessive social medias, additionally, they remarkably show the less stress level. Therefore, a bunch of information and human connections spiral out of control. We should consciously limit access to social media.
In conclusion, although this trend has led to several challenges. Implementing these solutions could greatly reduce its negative consequences.
