Nowadays, a growing number of individuals use phones and other electronic devices in order to have fun watching different kinds of content. However, spending too much time in front of screens affects people’s health and productivity significantly. In this essay, I will explain to what problems this situation may lead, and then I will offer some solutions.
To begin with, prolonged use of electronics can cause various physical and mental health problems, especially related with eyes. For example, diseases such as myopia or fatigue are some of the most common consequences of exposure to the blue light from screens. Moreover, spending time watching content has a great impact on quality of sleeping which affects people’s mental health and can cause depression or increasing stress level. In addition, there is a frequent habit of watching smartphones before falling asleep, but it may lead to the distraction and a lack of concentration at work or educational institutions.
There are many solutions to tackle this problem. First of all, it is essential to set time limits of using different applications because there is a possibility to get carried away watching a TV or a mobile and not notice how time has flown by. Also, dealing with this issue involves encouraging people to do outdoor activities by the government. In other words, the government should promote a healthy lifestyle and make sports more accessible.
To sum up, excessive use of electronics presents several challenges to people, but it is important to mitigate the negative effects of devices in order to improve the health of the nation. However, by implementing time limits and promoting alternative activities, people can find a balance in the use of technology in the digital age.
