The majority of people in the modern world explore new countries and locations as a way of deriving pleasure. While many justifiably propose that this very travel has a devastating effect on touristic countries, I would partly agree with this statement, as it does not always contribute in a harmful way.
Admittedly, tourism can have a detrimental impact on the countries being visited. Travelling attracts a huge influx of tourists, which then inevitably raises various public and environmental concerns. Overcrowdedness in streets, for example, will possibly impede transportation and reaching desired destinations in cities. Meanwhile, increased pollution caused by heavy use of plastic-packaged goods is likely to have a devastating effect on protected areas and their inhabitants. Consequently, travelling to foreign countries cannot be viewed on the bright side only.
Nevertheless, I would refute that visiting other locations outside one’s home country has exclusively adverse effects. International tourism is a great tool for reinforcing economies of countries that rely on this sphere via developing small businesses. Voyagers often serve as a source of income, meaning more tourists arriving increases profits, and this is a perfect example confirming that local sellers will definitely be in an advantageous position. This process is absolutely beneficial for countries too, as they receive taxes from flourishing businesses. Thus, tourism enables countries to extract benefits as well as drawbacks.
In conclusion, I agree that travelling abroad is capable of influencing touristic locations adversely, specifically by means of public inconveniences and environmental concerns. However, I am entirely convinced that it should not be considered completely harmful, since tourism carries economic benefits for business development in touristic destinations.
