There is an undeniable fact that many teenagers nowadays are not keen on watching news or reading the newspapers. There are several reasons for why this trend is increasing, and I believe that, for mitigating this issue, the government support is vital.
First of all, although there are countless reasons for why this trend is rising, the main problems are the social media and alterations in the human psychology. In fact, in recent years, social media is the main database for individuals. Most people are learning about news from apps ,such as Instagram and Facebook, in fact people do not only use these applications for entertainment but also for knowing what happens in the world. When people have access to free and faster way of learning information they instantly choose social media rather than reading the newspapers. Additionally, social media changed time limit for getting information to the human brain, indeed, nowadays people are more impatient. They try to access data in only a minute. By contrast to that, on TV, news are quite long for a world where almost everyone is impatient.
When considering the issues above it is understandable that people need a permanent solution, and I believe the government has an essential role for changing attitude on newspaper and news. In my view, the best option would be altering the way how news are introduced to people. Firstly, as previously mentioned, the newspapers are too long, instead of that designers might use interesting graphs and various headings for attracting peoples’ attention. For example, Azerbaijan newspaper media changed their newspaper to short texts and interesting pictures for attracting people, and they have been successful for selling this kind of newspapers. Doing the same alterations in TV news can be beneficial in the long term.
In conclusion, social media and people’s impatience have an impact on how people think about newspaper and news on TV. For changing this negative trend the government must ensure that information is given in interesting way.
