An upward trend is witnessing among the number of young people that prefer to take a gap year before applying for higher educational institutions. I am of the opinion that, this is a quite wise step regarding elaborating their purpose and choosing most appropriate profession. Hence, it has more merits than setbacks.
To begin with, after graduating from school most of the youngsters can feel overwhelmed and mentally drained which can lead to outbreak of burnout feeling. This situation is primarily experienced by students who have bright academic background and high qualifications. School graduates generally have no wide experiences with life and sometimes cannot decide which major is better in terms of prospects and opportunities. Therefore, emergence of this condition can negatively influence their decision-making process that is indispensable for the future career path. Therefore, it would be helpful for relaxing their brain and alleviating accumulated stress from their body, then determining smart goals.
Considering some aspects putting one or two year intervals depending on individuals promising more benefits. For instance, a number of youth aged people take a precedence of embarking on career way or start their own business just after school graduation. In such kind of cases studying university could be unfortunately, time-consuming phase. Furthermore, according to statistics, a quite high percentage of people suffer from choosing wrong major or spending extra years on studying by changing it. Hence push ourselves immediately into university life by making a choice superficially can only hinder our progress. As a consequence, decisions that given by sharpen minds always paves the stairway for promising and well-designed future.
In conclusion, taking at least one year break off right after finishing schools extremely vital for individuals long-term success and finding true aspirations. This viewpoints possess more advantages which overshadow opposite arguments.
