Recently, it is not uncommon that information and resources of arts and entertainment are digitised. In my opinion, the benefits are greater than the drawbacks because digitization can make it easier to access to excellent artworks and ease damages to local citizens.
Some people argue that digitization of artworks may develop security problems of data on arts because breaking into security networks and stealing data are sometimes easier than physically breaking into art galleries at this digital era. In fact, the number of security attacks which intend to steal important data has been increasing year and year all over the world. This is why some enterprises try to protect confidential information by not uploading it on the Internet.
Nevertheless, digitization brings more advantages than disadvantages. The first positive aspect is easy access to arts and entertainment. If artworks are published as videos or photos on the Internet, citizens can easily enjoy them without going to art museums, which is particularly suitable for people who have disabilities, are raising children, or are from foreign countries.
Another benefit is that digitization helps local residents living in cities where famous art galleries are located. As art museums are seen as sightseeing spots, some local citizens living aroud them are bothered by noise pollutions, littering, or crowding which are generated by tourists. If techonological improvements for arts are progress, such residents can lead normal lives without being annoyed by foreigners.
In conclusion, although digitization of artworks and amusement may cause security incidents, people can have opportunities to touch into arts easily and harms to local residents can be mitigated. This is why I believe that benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
