In today’s modern world, there are ever-increasing working areas that employ automobiles to support with strenuos physical chores. Although some drawbacks arise from such a phenomenon, I personally believe that this is a positive development.
On the one hand, it is true that there exist detrimental impacts as workers being replaced by tools. Using gadgets to perform a task means that less or no human labour is needed, which contributes to higher unemployment rates. The enterprises will layoff workers, those whom no skill or diploma, to do (other) jobs that do not make a living for themselves. As a result, it is more feasible for employees to be subjected to dismissal, causing a problem in social stability. Moreover, should vehicles have breakdowns or malfunctions, it is problematic to have them fixed immediately for normal people. Consequently, hiring an expert or skilled person to help with the maintenance of machines means a rise in additional expenses.
On the other hand, I would consider that the aforementioned demerits are eclipsed by the merits. First and foremost, one of the outstanding benefits is safety. Several jobs need properly security training for workers, since they involve hazardous operations and, without insurance, people could easily get injured. For instance, safety certifications are compulsory to weld electrical devices or cut metal in China to avoid people’s (harm and) accidents due to lack of protecting awareness. Companies are now likely to (efficiently) prevent risky situations thanks to modern engines. Another (driving) advantageous effect is that utilizing machinery can achieve more remarkable feats in scientific and technological fields. Intelligent instruments can work long hours without becoming bored or exhausted. In other words, they are powerful in areas that require completing repetitive tasks quickly and accurately. This results in higher productivity, especially in processing large amounts of data and generating high-quality products. In addition to high efficiency, machines could liberate workers from the hardship in order to enjoy more me-time. Nowadays, with the help of machines, workers just need to touch several buttons to finish demanding tasks instead of being exhausted after suffering from back-breaking duties. This paves the way for leisure time, which benefits employees’s mental and physical health.
In conclusion, replacing humans with machines to undertake manual labor is a huge progress in society. As consumers and workers all benefit from this trend, the advantages of this change could outweigh the negative influences it brings.
