In recent years, there is an increase in young adults choosing to live alone. This trend is accompanied by social and economic factors. While it offers certain benefits, this certainly has negative implications on individuals and society.
One key reason for living alone is the desire for freedom. Nowadays, individuals crave for making own decisions in terms of personal and professional wellbeing. For instance, a typical Indian child is raised as per the likings of its parents. Eventually, the child becomes aware of this and lashes out to live by its own rules. Additionally, everyone aims to be financially successful, which promotes people in their twenties to opt for single housing, in order to focus and improve.
Despite the need for it, I believe it has some serious longterm drawbacks. Firstly, after a certain period of time individuals feel depressed and lonely. This ultimately affects concentration thereby leading to drug consumption to regain the lost focus. Also, individuals become introverted and socially inactive. This, in turn, causes them to lose their charisma and struggle to interact and develop relationships with others. As a consequence, this destroys the primary purpose of living alone, that is, working towards a better and prosperous life.
In conclusion, freedom and financial stability are the main drivers to live alone. However, I firmly believe that this practice without proper knowledge to handle stress can largely declines the social and economic life of individuals.
