Many researchers argue that fast food is dangerous for people’s well-being. Some individuals think that the solution of this question is to teach them, while others claim this is waste of time. I believe that education can raise people’s awareness towards unhealthy food, although it cannot stop people from consuming them.
Teaching people, especially children how eating junk food on daily basis can affect their health could help them understand how dangerous it is. Because majority of people don’t realise how harmful they are. For example, many people are attracted by fake advertisements: many companies claim that their products are 100% natural and without GMOs. Unfortunately, majority of people believe in them and consume these ready-made products with suspicious components without any hesitation. Giving them even little knowledge about the harm of junk food on person’s wellness will reduce the consumption of unhealthy food.
On the other hand, these kind of practise could not prevent persons to continue to eat them, because of their availability. They are sold in every store, cost very cheap, and most importantly, they do not require too much effort to make them. For instance, after a long tough day, people do not want to spent their time on preparing dinner. They prefer to order fast food from restaurants, rather than prepare dinner by themselves, even though it puts their health at risk. That’s why educating people could not be the solution of this issue.
In conclusion, even we inform people about the dangerousness of fast food, they will continue to consume them, because they are cheap, do not take a lot of time, and energy.
