In this day and age, humanity is facing infinite number of changes in modern lifestyle — from Internet era, to transport and services. These factors influence negatively the way we expect things to be done, so I believe that getting what a person wants in a hot minute is a negative trend.
Nevertheless, there are some advantages to instant access to everything we want. This kind of quick service creates a huge demand, therefore, companies should be able to keep up to this and provide the best service possible. This competition leads to a better quality of any service we can think of. For instance, when it comes to streaming platforms, there are at least 10 businesses to get a subscription from, and every one of them tries to get a new client by suggesting the best price or service.
Having said that, I strongly believe that there are some drawbacks to this as well, such as a lack of patience and long-term planning in people’s minds. First of, when people are used to instant completion of a task, they do not have enough patience for other things that take time. Even getting in shape takes some time, but now it is expected that after a week or two of exercise one will become a completely different person.
Another reason is that since humanity is accustomed to getting anything they want rapidly, there is no such thing as long-term planning anymore. People used to save their money and plan their budget to purchase cars, houses and so on. Nevertheless, now a dream house is one click away, as everyone can buy it in installments. Nowadays, society is using this habitually, with no need to plan anything for the future.
In conclusion, there are some positive sides to getting what people want instantly, but I find this development negative.
