The automation and immediacy have long been an indispensable part of every individual’s life. Consequently, a growing proportion of human beings yearns for the need of getting things done instantaneously including services, information, and tasks. From my perspective, this surge in demands can bring the pros and cons to individuals and the society as a whole.
On the one hand, proponents of instancy contend that this is a merit-based approach. To begin with, immediacy has transformed human lives positively due to the competitive forces from enterprises. Indeed, rapid technological development urges these companies for constant innovations, including cutting-edge technique and machines. This competition has led to various useful inventions such as the instant payment platforms and real-time language translation apps, which significantly contributes to the increased conveniences for individuals. In addition, instantaneity also plays an indispensable role in medical sectors. To clarify, this advancement can help patients detect their illness early through rapid diagnosis tools and immediate online consultants, which can help cure the underlying causes leading to severe conditions.
By contrast, despite various benefits brought forth by instantaneity, opponents contend that its drawbacks are more glaring. First, it can lead to the devaluation of precious virtues such as patience and preservation. As automation and instancy make human lives simpler and more convenient, they are more likely to gradually diminish their stamina and even develop a hatred for time-enriching activities. For instance, due to the aforementioned reason, a majority of citizens are grown out of the desire for activities such as playing an instrumental or cultivating a skill, which requires the patience and daily practice. Furthermore, the urge for immediacy can lead to unwanted outcomes, including misunderstanding and misinterpretations. Take journalism as an example, due to the harsh competition and the yearning for breaking news first, journalists are more likely to record and write down inaccurate information.
In conclusion, while instantaneity can yield diverse merits for human beings such as the increased conveniences and medical treatments, its shortcomings including the loss of perseverance and misinterpretations are undeniable. A hybrid approach which bolsters such instancy and reduces personal over-reliance is an effective solution.
