In the current fast-paced world, there is an increasing tendency of young individuals to move out to live either with their friends or independently away from their families. Comments on such a phenomenon are relatively negative, regarding its detrimental impact on society. Personally, I share a similar perspective, as this development poses a great likelihood of fragmented and disjointed communities.
Owing to today’s hectic and demanding era, many people now find they are overwhelmed with work, and therefore, decide to move out from their families to avoid additional responsibility and seek freedom for their personal lives. They either stay with like-minded friends or live isolated from others, seeking solitude and seeing this as their sole escape from their outrageously stressful lives. However, such a method can be inconspicuously destructive to their characteristics. After moving out, people are less likely to contact or interact with their family and loved ones; instead spending most of their time on work. This subsequently results in the development of poor behavior and characteristics, such as unsympathy or uncaring, turning them into cold-hearted and selfish individuals, disregarding their surroundings. This is proven in the research conducted by VN Express which shows that people living alone behave recklessly and are less sharing than their counterparts living in family settings.
In terms of community, this trend will exacerbate society, given the increasing number of individuals lacking family connections. Since people are becoming more self-centered, communities will undoubtedly be ununited and disjointed. Provided that everyone is uncaring, more unethical actions would be conducted, in an attempt to deceive or scam others for one’s own advantage. Therefore, more crimes would be committed, society would be doomed, and there would no longer be any patriot of the nation. This situation has appeared in New York, the biggest nation regarded as the most advanced economic central hub, however, considered as the place of a cold-hearted society where no one cares about other people.
In conclusion, owing to the present stressful life, people decide to move away from their families. Nevertheless, I believe this movement is more disadvantageous, given its worsening on people’s personalities and potentially fragmenting society.
