Nowadays, robots are replacing humans in jobs and home chores. In this essay, I will try to compare the advantages and disadvantages of this change and finally decide if it is positive or not.
To begin with, there are several disadvantages of robots during the accomplishment of particular tasks. Firstly, if they face any unintended situation, they just stop working. This is because they perform only based on what they are programmed to do. If there is an unexpected occurrence, that they know nothing about, they make a lot of errors. Secondly, robots are too expensive. It is not a secret that programmers and engineers spend years of hard work just building one robot. Additionally, all the components of robots are made of the highest quality materials. Therefore, their price is quite expensive. For example, an average human-like robot costs more than a million dollars.
however, there are two main benefits of robots as well. Firstly, they do not get tired. This is because robots run on a small amount of energy. When they run out of energy, it is enough to charge them for a few hours, and they continue working. For example, an average human works for 8 hours per day for 5 days a week, and this is the norm for not to get overwhelmed physically. However, robots can keep working without taking any breaks. Secondly, robots do not make simple mistakes, unlike humans. This is because they are programmed to pay attention to every detail and complete the task perfectly. They work on a very strict structure and do not get disrupted. For instance, if there is no mistake in the programmed background of the robots, they complete the task 100% correctly.
In conclusion, although robots cannot outrange their existing knowledge and are very expensive, I firmly believe that their introduction to our society as a means of assistance to household chores and a job. Above mentioned reasons persuaded me to think so.
